If you are interested in participating in Earth Day activities as a student, we have a few ideas for you. We listed some Earth Day activities that you can do alone or even better, you can organize a group of students to participate in these activities. The Earth Day activities are not difficult at all. They just take commitment and maybe some friends you can count on to help accomplish them.

Some of our Earth Day ideas are quite easy. There is no time limit or schedule to complete any of these Earth Day ideas. It is up to you to decide when to participate and how frequently you would like to participate in any of these Earth Day activity. If you live in a cooler climate and can’t participate in an outdoor activity, you can do the outdoor activity later in the school year or even over the summer. Of course, you can always participate with your family in some of these activities. It is up to you. Take a look at our Earth Day activity suggestions and let us know what you think!

  1. Walk or ride your bike to school 1 or 2 days a week
  2. Take a bus or carpool if you attend a community college or university for 1 or 2 days a week  
  3. Take a lunch to school and avoid buying any food at school
  4. Walk or ride your bike to visit your friends
  5. Exchange your unwanted toys, electronics and textbooks with other classmates that might be interested in them so they can be reused
  6. Offer your outgrown bike to friends, classmates, or neighbors so that it can be reused
  7. Offer unwanted sports equipment to friends, classmates, or neighbors so that they can be reused  
  8. Encourage your school to recycle paper, glass, cans, and plastic
  9. Organize a group of classmates, neighbors, or friends to spend an hour cleaning either a playground, park, beach, river, bike path, hiking trail, or mountain trail  
  10. Ask your group of classmates to consider meeting again over the summer for an hour to clean a playground, park or even the beach.

These are 10 easy Earth Day activities for students to consider participating in. Take one of our suggestions or maybe you already have an Earth Day activity in mind. Either way, we hope that you are able to participate in an Earth Day activity this year. It is a great way to make new friends as well as understand the importance of taking care of our Earth. No matter how small or big we are, we all depend on the earth for our survival.
